... and in the End the Germans Win After All!

So we may not have lifted the World Cup last night, but Germany played an amazing tournament with plenty of great achievements to be proud of:

Germany left South Africa with a medal coming third overall, was crowned Best Young Team and showed the Best Performance By a Team in their “utter annihilation of Argentina”!

Germany scored the most goals (16) and finished with the best goal difference (+11) out of all teams. Thomas Mueller was the youngest and fastest player to score a goal in the tournament (20 years old, 3rd minute against Argentina) and won the Golden Boot and the Best Young Player Award.

The great success of the Mannschaft on the pitch was complimented by another victory off the pitch: A certain German Treasury employee outclassed all competitors and won the Tip Game of at work… without the help of a certain cephalopod :)

Overall, quite a successful tournament – sharp sharp!
